YouTube is currently testing AI-powered comment topics summariser feature for YouTube Shorts. This will only be displayed on the iOS and Android apps of YouTube as of now. Besides, it will be available for a limited number of Shorts created by a few selected creators with large comment sections.
YouTube tests AI topics for Shorts
The giant video streaming platform shared details of the new feature in the support page that is dedicated for informing the users about the test features and experiments. According to YouTube, it is still testing the comment topics summariser feature for YouTube Shorts. YouTube Shorts have become an extremely popular addition to the video streaming platform.
Now YouTube is adding the comment topics summarizer feature inorder to increase the participation of users and encourage them to interact and engage with content. The AI powered feature will work in a simple and easy manner. All the published comments will be pulled by the feature to find similar keywords, then the keywords that are most discussed among the users will be categorized into different sections and a title will be generated for each topic.
During the test, YouTube announced that the AI topics will be visible on shorts by selected creators who are part of the experiment groups. The platform will choose the Shorts which have large comment sections and will work accordingly to show the topics.
