YouTube removes a number of music videos about violence

A number of music videos were flagged by the UK’s Metropolitan Police, the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, and the Home Office, and some community groups that are aware of the issue in the UK.

YouTube has already deleted more than 30 music videos that have violent actions and videos that are related to knife crimes. The Met blamed social media for increasing in number of murders in the capital specifically the rap genre of music because of its lyrics, theme, and actions, according to Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick.

YouTube developed their policies and guidelines specifically to help the issue happening in the UK and continuing the service with the support of experts on the issue. The police-reported videos are directly sent to YouTube because based on the spokesman they need a specialist for the case.
