Last year a feature was introduced by WhatsApp that enables users to record and send video messages. Currently an online report says that the Meta owned app is working on a feature that will allow users to forward outgoing video messages.
Here’s everything you need to know about Whatsapp’s new feature
Some beta testers have the opportunity to explore this new feature that simplified the process of forwarding video messages according to reports by WABteaInfo. Sharing video messages across various conversations was a troublesome process as this feature was not available in the previous updates. With this feature not being present to forward video messages, previously users had to take up manual recording or less efficient alternative methods such as screen recording.
Advantages of this new feature
The process of sharing videos has been streamlined through the introduction of this new feature that allows users to forward videos efficiently across conversations. This has significantly improved user experience and communication efficiency. However it is to be noted that for preserving privacy and confidentiality of communication, forwarding incoming voice notes from other contacts are not supported.
The report further states that “The introduction of this feature might bring significant advantages to users as they can quickly share video messages with multiple contacts without having to recreate the same message. This saves time and ensures they do not need to record the same content multiple times, and it is particularly useful for those who frequently share video messages with their friends, family, or colleagues.”
WhatsApp has also brought Passkeys for iPhones
WhatsApp is now expanding its Passkeys feature for iPhone users. This will make it easier for them to log into a device without a one time password (OTP) which is SMS based. Once you enable the Passkeys option on WhatsApp, iPhone users can use TouchID, FaceID or the passcode set by them to log into their WhatsApp account. To know more, click here
