WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow the users to create AI generator images and set them as profile pictures without leaving the app.

Get to know more about the new feature

The popular instant messaging platform which is used by billions all across the world is currently working on incorporating a new feature. This will reportedly allow users to set AI generated profile pictures. The new feature will be available as part of the latest whatsapp beta for Android v2.24.11.17. This was first reported by WABetaInfo and will be really useful for the ones who do not want to set their own photo as the profile picture. Rather they can now use AI generated images as their profile pictures, thus increasing user privacy.

The report states that the tool is supposed to show up when you click on the pencil-like edit step in the profile picture settings. There is also a possibility that WhatsApp will give this feature a treatment like that of Avatar and place it in a different tab, dedicated only for the purpose.

How will the AI powered profile picture generator look like?

The AI powered profile picture generator will more or less look like stickers and will allow the user to generate an image according to the description that you type in. You will be able to create unique and personalized images that describe your current mood, personality or interests.

It is still unknown regarding which large model will be used by this AI powered functionality. According to WABetaInfo, it is speculated that the model will be the same as the platform used for the recently introduced Meta AI search bar. There is no further update regarding this feature since it is still under development.
