WhatsApp is reportedly making it easier to share the status of their friends, family and colleagues by introducing a feature that lets users reshare status updates, just like in Instagram.

New status reshare feature on WhatsApp

A new feature is being tested by WhatsApp that will make it easy for the users to reshare status updates on their profile with the dedicated button. This feature has been spotted by the WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo on the latest Whatsapp beta version 2.24.16.4 for Android. This feature will be extremely useful for the users of the instant messaging platform who are interested to reshare status updates on their profile. A similar feature has been there on Meta’s photo and video-sharing platform Instagram for years.

This feature is currently under development and it will add a quick shortcut button to reshare status updates. Users can reshare the status as it is they can also customize them further by using emojis or by resizing the post. As of now if a user wants to reshare a WhatsApp status update they have to take a screenshot of it and then re-upload it on their WhatsApp status, which can’t be applicable if it is a video or a GIF format image.

WhatsApp is testing a translation feature for messages

This new feature will be able to allow users to translate messages in other languages, according to a report issued by a feature tracker. This translation feature might use the life translation technology of Google and it works on- device. This means that the data is stored locally instead of being sent to a cloud server. Users can implement this feature to translate messages on the instant messaging platform. As of now the reports claim that the feature was noticed in the WhatsApp for Android app version 2.24.15.8.
