According to reports WhatsApp developers are working on re-designing the user interface of voice call. With this the user would not have to go back to the call screen and it will be easier for users to end and mute calls.
The developers of WhatsApp, the most popularly used instant messaging app on the planet, came up with an option that let users make voice calls through the app itself, almost a decade ago. However since then the voice call screen has remained unchanged over the years.
The instant messaging platform owned by Meta is reportedly now working on a redesigned voice call screen interface. According to a new report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new voice call interface that moves the mute and end buttons of the call from the bottom of the audio call screen to the top bar from where you can check the call duration. The mute and end buttons for the voice call will be visible to you even if you minimize the call screen.
As you can see in the picture above, the mute button is currently positioned at the top left of the screen and the end call option can be found at the top right corner of the screen. Even if you manually installed the latest beta version of WhatsApp, it is highly unlikely that this interface will now be visible to you because this change is currently part of a limited rollout.
