Uber will have a new minibus product that will launch in Cairo that will offer low-cost services to all people across Egypt and Middle East.
Uber Bus is the first service that will release by the company and it was said that the service will benefit the country from the new investment law, the ride-sharing regulations, and also the infrastructure. The company also planned to launch a new version of the app that will be helping people in low connectivity places. The new Uber Lite version app will run on the older versions of Android.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in a blog post, “I’m excited to be in Cairo to launch Uber Bus, a product that will improve affordable transportation for millions of Egyptians by using Uber’s technology to enhance the popular minibus system. We are committed to broadening access to the Uber platform with a range of low-cost options that will move more people around town and help cities tackle issues such as congestion. Egypt and the Middle East region are hugely important to Uber and we will continue to heavily invest in this part of the world.”
Uber confirmed that the Uber Bus will start in Cairo City and for the Uber Lite, the company planned to release in early next year.
