Uber has launched a new service called Uber Health on Thursday, entering the medical transit market. The service lets healthcare providers, clinics, hospitals and the like book rides for their patients to their appointments. The gist of the new service is similar to Uber’s UberCENTRAL where businessmen can assign bookings for their clientele.
Uber’s press release on their website states that riders won’t need to download the Uber app as they will be contacted via text message. The company has even announced plans to have patients be assigned rides through mobile and landline. The service is already being utilized in several US hospitals, clinics and healthcare centers as part of their beta test.
