With the evolving technology of the new generation of wearables, Ultrahuman, an Indian startup, has launched its new smart Ultrahuman Ring. Yes, that’s right! After smartwatches and smart eyewears, we have now among us a smart ring as well. As fascinating as it sounds, this Ultrahuman ring lives up to its name given the plethora of health tracking services it has to offer.
This Ultrahuman Ring works in a way similar to the Oura Ring. An Oura Ring fits on the user’s finger and also measures the user’s sleep quality. Along with all this, it provides other health tracking features for heart rate, temperature, respiration rate etc.
The Ultrahuman Ring along with offering all the above mentioned health tracking features, it also provides a metabolism-tracking feature along with real-time sleep and movement tracking. It does this through the M1 patch, which has a hollow needle to monitor and track all health activities in real time. It then gives a “metabolic score” based on food and exercise. This shows how certain foods might affect a workout, recovery or even sleep.
Coming to its looks, the Ultrahuman Ring has a simple design, no screens, and no vibrations, so users are relieved of receiving constant notifications. This is where it stands out as compared to other wearables such as smartwatches. Therefore, users can check their vitals whenever they like on the app. According to Ultrahuman, the ring is made in such a way that it can withstand rigorous use and heavy workouts.
The manufacturer claims that the tungsten carbide coating on the titanium body of the ring, which also makes it incredibly scratch-resistant, is 5 times harder than tool steel. The ring is made in such a way that wearing it while sleeping or resting is comfortable. The ring also comes with a 5-day battery life.
Pre-orders for the Ultrahuman Ring will be accepted worldwide beginning on July 7 of 2022, and shipping will begin in August.
Mohit Kumar, Founder and CEO, Ultrahuman commented on the launch of the Ultrahuman Ring,”We have always believed in the power of biomarkers in terms of their ability to make health optimization more efficient. With the Ultrahuman ring and a new suite of metabolic biomarkers, you can now understand not just what’s affecting your glucose metabolism but also how to act on the insights in an efficient way. For eg., You could figure how much of your glucose metabolism is affected by the lack of sleep vs the food itself. This is a phenomenal leap in the world of biomarkers and allows us to study various factors around human health in a unique and much more impactful way than ever.”
