Yesterday, Light posted in a press release through Globe Newswire, about their agreement with Sony Semiconductor Solutions and will focus on multi-camera applications for smartphones with more than four cameras.
According to the partnership of the two giant companies, Sony’s image sensors will have Light’s computational imaging solutions and reference layouts. Both companies will combine their technologies and image sensor to create applications that will help people in taking pictures and videos, which will be a solution to have high-quality photos. The giant companies will start the project with smartphones that have four or more cameras.

Sony’s President of Component Solutions Business Division, Hank Ochi, is excited to have a project with Light and launch new products and solutions. He added, “Starting today, our jointly developed reference designs will help our smartphone OEMs to quickly and easily enhance the imaging capability of multi-camera enabled smartphones.”
