Recently, Sony introduced the INZONE, which boasts Sony’s iconic sound identity coupled with enhanced Active Noise Cancellation, remarkable battery life, and low latency. The ₹ 17,990 TWS earphones come with a dongle for additional connecting choices and are compatible with the Bluetooth LE standard.

Features and Review

Connectivity

Compatibility for Sony’s INZONE Buds isn’t great. It has LE Audio Bluetooth compatibility and supports Bluetooth v5.3.

Moreover, the business offers a 2.4GHz USB-C dongle that you can attach into your gadget to link the earbuds easily. With virtually instantaneous connection to the earbuds and no need to fiddle with Bluetooth settings, it functions remarkably well.

Pc and PlayStation players will find the INZONE Buds to be a great option because of its dependable and steady 2.4GHz wireless connections through the Dongle.

Designing

The addition of another moving part might not seem very convenient, even though the casing has a designated area for easily carrying the dongle. The case has one LED indication for battery life and pairing status on the front, a pairing button on the back, and a USB-C port for charging.

The USB-C 2.4GHz dongle is tucked snugly between the INZONE Buds in a separate compartment, and the case can be opened to show the buds inside. Together with a USB-C charging cord, the kit also comes with six more earphone tips in different sizes. There are two colors available for the tastefully designed INZONE Buds: black and white. We were given the black version of the gadget.

The earphones are labeled left and right with obvious markings, and when you put them in, there’s a little jingle to let you know they’re on. The mode that you are in is also indicated by a voice prompt.

The USB-C dongle has a white LED indication to indicate when it is active and a switch with two settings for PC and PS5/mobile use. In case it’s necessary, a reset button makes it simple to return to the original USB transceiver setting. With IPX4 comparable protection, the device has better resistance to dust and water.

Audio quality

With an 8.4mm dynamic driver, the Sony INZONE Buds provide outstanding sound quality. The acoustic profile of the earphones is really pleasing, with appropriate high, mid, and low frequency separation.

Although it doesn’t overshadow other frequencies, the bass is clear and rich. The highs are precisely right to allow the vocals to show through without being overly harsh or abrupt, and the mids are rich and well-defined.

Though earbuds aren’t often known for their expansive soundstage, the INZONE Buds have an exceptionally amazing virtual soundstage for a pair of TWS earbuds. It may not surpass certain expensive headphones. Users will be able to discern background music, speech, and explosions without any of them drowning out due to the broad soundstage.

ANC

The industry-leading active noise cancellation (ANC) technology in the Sony INZONE Buds efficiently reduces or eliminates background noise. The odd loud neighbor or traffic noise can be readily muffled by the ANC.

Customisation

The special Inzone Hub program, which is exclusively compatible with Windows PCs, controls the INZONE Buds’ customizing settings. You may customize gestures, select preset profiles, and activate spatial audio for a better listening experience using this app.

Dynamic range control, a 10-band equalization filter, and a slider for game/chat balance are all features of the Inzone Hub. Nevertheless, the microphone options are restricted to a sidetone slider and an auto gain control toggle. One noteworthy feature missing from the EQ—and perhaps a turnoff for certain users—is a gaming preset.

Through the 360 Spatial Sound app on your phone, Sony also provides a personalization feature for spatial sound. With the use of an ear scan, this software creates a profile that modifies the simulated surround sound to better fit the shape of your ears. For a more customized audio experience, this profile can then be synced with the Inzone Hub.

Battery Life

Via a 2.4GHz connection, the INZONE Buds provide reliable backup, with a battery life of up to 12 hours on a single charge (and about 24 via Bluetooth). An extra twenty-four hours of battery life are provided by the charging case.

Summing up

The dongle connects and functions amazingly well, even if the device only supports Bluetooth LE. The buds perform quite well in games thanks to their broad soundstage and low latency. The INZONE Buds are a fantastic option for enhanced gaming and good audio quality if you can get over the dongle’s restricted direct connectivity.
