SoMon, the decentralized Web3 forum that aims to create an environment for user-owned connections and content, launched its Base app recently and has gained over 300,000 transactions on the chain in just 14 days. This makes it the fastest-growing and most active social app within the Web3 space.
SoMon rises rapidly
SoMon (short for Social Monster) allows users to create and monetize communities around their favorite topics and passions. It also lets them find creators and fans. The first social application built using OpenSocial Protocol – a layer of infrastructure that can be used to build social applications – and the first Web3 app without gas, it is able to attract users outside the crypto community.
In just two weeks, after launching its mobile app around a month earlier, on June 19, 2024, the community has accumulated over 30,000 registrations on-chain. The community has grown rapidly with more than 2 million social interactions among its 300+ Tribes and 80,000+ users.
After the release of this new feature on 17 July 2024, SoMon users began creating their own tribes with various tools. The technology behind NFT enabled fragmented ownership. Users create content and the platform is then monetized by a tool named ‘Megaphone,’ which allows users to pay to promote their Tribes. The revenue is then redistributed back to Tribe owners.
SoMon’s first season will end on July 31, 2024. In this season users compete for points by interacting and badges through climbing different leagues. The SoMon community token $OwO will be officially launched at the end the season. It will airdrop to the community 3% of the total supply on 1 August 2024 and 1% for subsequent seasons.
In the upcoming seasons SoMon will focus on activating community economies via Tribe Summer Campaign for users. It will help them to engage and create their bot-free communities.
