After Telegram, it’s time for Snapchat to follow the same footsteps of the prior application. As per speculations Snapchat is working on developing their new subscription feature called Snapchat+. Snapchat is an instant and social messaging and photo sharing application by Snap Inc. Snapchat over the past few years has managed to gain immense popularity among all the netizens across the world. It has approximately 293 million daily active users along with a growth of 23% year after year.

Snapchat is nothing like other social media platforms such as Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram etc. in a way that it allows the user to send self-destruct messages, photos and videos to other friend users within the application, innumerable filters, colorful lenses, locate friends on an engaging map, create their own animated version- called the bitmoji, experience AR, and many more.

According to reports, the parent company, Snap Inc. is currently testing certain subscription features for the premium version of Snapchat internally. This news was initially reported by a fellow Twitter user Alessandro Paluzzi, who is a mobile developer and reserve engineer- as per his Twitter profile description.

Snapchat+ subscribers would get the privilege to gain access to certain premium experimental and pre-release features which wouldn’t be accessible to other regular Snapchat users. They are also entitled to receive certain other exclusive features as well. Snapchat+ is assumed to offer new features such as offering Snapchat+ users a unique badge, pinning any of your friend’s profiles as ‘#1BFF’, exclusive and limited Snapchat icons, feature to check upon your friends’ whereabouts in the last 24 hours, and also know who all have watched your story in the last 24 hours.

The application will charge 4.59 euros (Rs.375) for a monthly subscription (per month basis), 24.99 euros for a half-year subscription (6-months subscription), and 45.99 euros for a yearly subscription (1 year subscription). Also, the users can avail a free trial for the first week before their paid subscription begins.

However, we are still yet to receive any solid confirmation regarding this new subscription feature from Snapchat. Snapchat+ is still in its early development phase and it’s going to take a while for it to actually become reality. For now at least we are aware of all the features and privileges it will offer to the user.
