Slack AI just got upgraded with new features and AI capabilities for paid users.

New features introduced by Slack AI

A standout addition of the new upgrade is the “recap” AI capability. Users are to get automated daily digests that summarise the key discussions in specified channels through this new feature. Your activity can even be analysed by Slack AI and recommends you the busy channels which might be worthwhile for candidates.

Besides, Slack AI has an AI-powered search. This feature addresses a user pain point that has been discussed and reported over a long time. Instead of digging through tangled threads, your task just got a lot easier. Now you can just ask a conversational question about any topic and Slack AI will provide you with relevant messages along with a helpful summary response.

One of the best features brought about by the new upgrade is the conversation summaries. Slack AI will analyse an entire message thread or channel with just a single click and a high-level recap will be generated. This recap will highlight all the crucial details such as action items, key takeaways, decisions and more.

Obviously, security and privacy questions will always arise whenever corporate conversations meet AI. However, Salesforce is aiming to get ahead of the privacy concerns. According to Salesforce, Slack data would never leave the environment of the customer; not even for training AI models for other clients.

The AI capabilities depend on large language models hosted in the virtual private cloud of Salesforce for analysing unique Slack data of each company. Currently languages such as English, Spanish, Japanese are being supported and more are on the way.

For whom are these Slack AI features available?

The Slack AI add-on features are available for all paid Slack tiers- from the Pro bundle up to Enterprise plans. It will be available at a cost of $10 per user per month. However, this is just the beginning. Salesforce says more are on the way.
