WhatsApp is becoming more than just a messaging app. Female WhatsApp users can now monitor their menstrual cycle. A feminine hygiene company called Sirona has introduced the nation’s first period tracker on WhatsApp.
Deep Bajaj, Co-founder and CEO of Sirona Hygiene Pvt. Ltd said about the collaboration with WhatsApp that “Technology has the potential to alter the lives of menstruators, and we are using it to create a better environment and community for them to connect and flourish. We leverage the power of AI and intuitive technology to offer ease of access to our users through WhatsApp, which has become an integral part of our lives,”
According to Sirona’s press announcement, the period monitoring application can be used to keep track of three objectives: tracking periods, attempting to conceive, and preventing pregnancy. Users must provide their period and last period information so that the chatbot can keep track of it and share reminders and forthcoming cycle dates in accordance with the user’s objectives.
According on the user’s objective, the chatbot will then provide reminders regarding approaching cycle dates. According to Sirona, the chatbot was created using the WhatsApp Business Platform. By providing users with updates on their ovulation cycle, the app will also be helpful to those who are attempting to get pregnant.
It also offers a choice for those who want to prevent getting pregnant by drawing attention to their fertile window. Remember that the information you supply will determine how accurate these reminders are. The chatbot might also be off if your menstrual cycle changes, which would make it inaccurate. Users will have the chance to edit their information via the chatbot as well.
Steps to track your menstrual cycle on WhatsApp:
To your contacts, add 9718866644. Next, send a WhatsApp “Hello” message. Sirona will give you a range of possibilities. Writing “period tracker” in the chat box will prompt you to enter your period information. Sirona will then display information about your ovulation, fertile window, upcoming and previous cycles, and even your cycle length.
The WhatsApp Business Platform is the foundation for the period tracker. It operates with a simple chatbot user interface, which makes the user experience enjoyable and seamless.
