Google is preparing for its annual event, the Google I/O conference, which is rumored to take place on May 14. At the event, there may be an unveiling of the latest smartphone, the Pixel 8a. While there’s no official confirmation yet, rumors are circulating about its potential launch.
Price:
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Pixel 8a could be announced in May, possibly coinciding with Google’s I/O 2024 event. As for the price, it’s expected to be between Rs 41,648 to Rs 45,813 in India. This places it in the same price range as its predecessors. Last year’s Pixel 7a was launched in India with a price tag of Rs 43,999.

Leaks surrounding the Pixel 8a’s specifications have been circulating online, giving us a glimpse into what Google might have in store. The phone is rumored to have a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED display with an impressive refresh rate of 120Hz, offering smoother visuals compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, which had a 90Hz screen.
Powerhouse:
The Pixel 8a is rumored to run on the Tensor G3 chipset, similar to the higher-end Pixel 8 models. However, there might be some differences in the chipset technology used. While the regular G3 chip uses FOPLP, the Pixel 8a’s version might opt for IPoP technology, enhancing its performance and efficiency.
Battery:
One significant improvement for the Pixel 8a is its larger battery capacity, rumored to be around 4,500mAh compared to the 4,385mAh battery in the Pixel 7a. This improvement in battery size could translate to longer usage times. Additionally, the Pixel 8a is expected to support 27W fast charging.
Camera:
The Pixel 8a will retain the same rear camera setup as its predecessor. This means we could see a 64-megapixel primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support, accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
