The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) by Apple is a highly anticipated event for tech enthusiasts, developers, and Apple fans. Besides software updates, Apple often unveils new hardware at WWDC. However, this year is expected to be different.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, known for his accurate Apple predictions, there will be no hardware announcements during the WWDC 2024 keynote on June 10. Gurman stated in his recent Power On newsletter: “There’s no hardware slated to be announced at WWDC unless Apple unexpectedly previews a new device launching later.”
Software updates
Here are some highlights of what we might see:
- iOS 18: The next iteration of Apple’s mobile operating system will likely bring exciting new features and enhancements hinting at AI-powered capabilities, which could revolutionize how we interact with our iPhones.
- iPadOS 18: iPad users can look forward to improvements tailored specifically for their devices. Whether it’s multitasking enhancements or new productivity features, iPadOS updates are always eagerly awaited.
- macOS 15: Mac users can expect refinements and new functionalities in macOS.
- Revamped Siri: Apple’s virtual assistant might receive significant upgrades. Voice control, AI-driven suggestions, and better integration with apps could be on the horizon.
Even though WWDC 2024 might not showcase new hardware, it doesn’t mean Apple isn’t working on it. Rumors have circulated about the next-gen Apple TV, including the possibility of a built-in camera or an upgraded chipset. As always, Apple keeps its plans confidential, and surprises could still be in store.
