A number of users are complaining about the feature that has been interrupted their streaming of episodes.
According to TechCrunch, Netflix was examined video promos that will play while users are viewing, between episodes of shows. The said promos are made for subscribers, and full-screen videos. It has the information for the upcoming episode which includes the title, description, and a thumbnail that can be seen on the right side of the screen. The feature is one of the hundred of tests Netflix manages yearly, and many of it is for the promotion of Netflix’s original programming to the users.
Netflix added “In this particular case, we are testing whether surfacing recommendations between episodes helps members discover stories they will enjoy faster. It is important to note that a member is able to skip a video preview at anytime if they are not interested.”
The company confirmed to The Verge that the feature is just a temporary and it is supposed to be skippable.
