With a price tag of more than Rs 3 lakh, the much awaited Apple Vision Pro headset is expected to ship on February 2nd and promises an immersive experience with compatibility for a wide range of games and streaming apps. But one significant participant is noticeably missing from the lineup: Netflix. Users will need to find an unusual workaround since the streaming behemoth has unexpectedly announced that it would not be providing a specific app for the Vision Pro.

Not able to find the Netflix Magic

Netflix chose not to develop a specific software for the Apple headset, even in light of the Vision Pro’s capabilities and additional features. Users may be left wondering how to access their preferred Netflix material as a result of this move, which also affects the iPad app and makes it incompatible with the futuristic gadget.

Problems with Web Browsers

Instead of providing a specialized app, Netflix has come up with an unusual way to handle this by sending Vision Pro customers to the web browser version. This substitute, however, raises questions about possible streaming quality limitations that might lessen the headset’s claimed immersive experience.

 Netflix’s Approach to Devices

Netflix may be hesitant to create an app for the Vision Pro because of its more expansive device strategy. Although the massive streaming service did offer a specific app for the Meta Quest headset, there haven’t been many upgrades. This suggests that, at least initially, Netflix is taking a careful approach to the device ecosystem.

Apple’s Plans for Worldwide Growth

Apple Vision Pro will not have a dedicated Netflix app at launch: report
As pre-orders for the Vision Pro begin in the US on January 19, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo indicates that Apple intends to increase distribution outside of the US before to its WWDC 2024 presentation. This may represent Apple’s dedication to expanding the market for its high-end headset.

A Vision Pro launch without Netflix

Although fans of Apple products are excited for the Vision Pro to launch, those who were hoping for a smooth connection may be let down by the lack of a dedicated Netflix app. Netflix’s move is indicative of the streaming behemoth’s deliberate approach to joining new device ecosystems, even as Apple continues to hone its device strategy.
