Microsoft released the new version of its Outlook mobile app for iOS with a lot of features that include the new design.
Microsoft Outlook update for iOS will have a thicker typography and more vibrant colors which will help users to recognize and quickly switch to the app. When the user scrolls the header and message lists, it will get smaller and enlarge dynamically. The updated app will have avatars within the inbox that will help users to know who send them messages. For the changes of its calendar icon, it is said to have an animated forwards and backwards when a user scroll it.
According to The Verge, Jon Friedman, Leader of Microsoft Office Design, explained that the company does a lot of research and understanding if the new update will increase the positive feelings for the product. Friedman added “What we’ve found is that if people have more positive feelings towards a product, which is different than just how they rationally think about it, there’s a correlation to higher net promoter score, higher retention, and longer life time value of that people using the app.”
The company has not yet confirmed the debut of the dark mode, but they are working on it.
