The business has released the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 SoC. The 4nm fabrication technology from TSMC was used to build the new processor. Improved image processing capabilities, support for AI processing, and a fully integrated 5G modem are among its characteristics. According to the specs, it has four Cortex-A78 and four Cortex-A55 cores. The Mali-G610 MC6 graphics processing unit (GPU) is also included. Notably, the tech giant presented its flagship-grade MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor less than a week after the Dimensity 8250 was introduced.

The business has announced that the new Dimensity 8250 SoC is an octa-core chip that has three Arm Cortex-A78 cores with clock rates up to 3.0GHz and one Arm Cortex-A78 core clocked at 3.1GHz.

It also has four Arm Cortex-A55 cores, each of which has a maximum clock speed of 2.0GHz. An Arm Mali-G610 MC6 GPU is also included. UFS 3.1 storage and up to quad-channel LPDDR5 6,400Mbps RAM are supported by the Dimensity 8250 chipset.

Additionally, the chipset has improved photography capabilities. The MediaTek Dimensity 8250 is capable of supporting primary camera sensors up to 320 megapixels, according to the manufacturer. It can also power a configuration with three back cameras. It can also offer up to 2X lossless zoom and employs AI to eliminate noise in photos. It can capture videos at 60 frames per second with a resolution of up to 4K. Additionally, it has anti-shake electronic image stabilization (EIS) and video recording at 60 frames per second with 1080p quality.

In terms of AI capabilities, the new mobile CPU is capable of fusion processing and specific AI tasks. The business asserted that the new mobile processor had “excellent” ETHZ benchmark performance, without disclosing the numbers. It is also claimed to satisfy the power needs of smartphone manufacturers in situations where electricity is sensitive, in short bursts, and under temperature restrictions.

Aside from this, the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 SoC supports displays up to 180Hz full-HD+ or 120Hz WQHD+. Additionally, HDR10+ video processing is supported. In terms of connectivity, it comes with a fully functional 5G modem that supports sub-6GHz networks that are SA, NSA, and 3CC. In addition, it has Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and tri-band Wi-Fi 6E with a peak downlink speed of 4.7 Gbps.
