Musical.ly removed live.ly, a livestream feature of the app and suggested a new app which is live.me, an independent live streaming app in the US.
The company noted that live.me is not associated with live.ly and it is a third-party app which means, Musica.ly is not responsible for the services of live.me. For users that want to keep their friends or followers, they should head to Musical.ly. The partnership of Musical.ly and live.me helps users experience their favorite clips, and streaming live videos in one app. The user’s account including their profile, followers, coins, and favorite account are in the app.
According to TechCrunch, the request was not a deal-breaker for the company – in fact, it’s integrating Live.ly’s feature set into its own app.
The company is not yet giving further information about the matter and a response to the request of some news companies.
