In its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple had announced that it would be bringing significant changes and updates to the softwares for smartphones, tablets, and computers. iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura and WatchOS 9 brought significant changes into these softwares and also added a lot of new features that offer high-end productivity for a smooth multitasking experience and functioning. A few of the most important and essential features that are about to come your way this year if you are an iPhone user are as follows:

- Unsend or delete messages after sending them
One of the most prominent features of iOS 16 is that it lets you edit and un-send messages on iMessage after you have sent them. If you are one of those users who tend to use iMessage heavily and most frequently, then this feature is a life-saver for you. Users can delete or edit their messages up upto 15 minutes after sending the message. There’s still no clarity over whether this feature is compatible with only iMessages application or if the message is sent from an iMessage app to an Android phone. Also, you will be able to recover any deleted messages for upto 30 days.
- New lock screen and widgets
The iOS lock screen is all set to get a whole new makeover and design with this new update. Just like Android phones, iPhone will soon have a customisable lock screen, where the users will be able to apply the colors, fonts, styles and themes of their own choice along with a customisable lock screen lock based on whether they are at home or work. There will also be mini-widgets available on the lock screen which will display weather, alarm, activity, notifications and more, which is similar to the Android phones.
- iPhone as a webcam on Mac
Good news for all the workaholics and busybodies out there, as Apple has made it extremely simple to turn your iPhone into Mac’s webcam, through iOS 16 and MacOS Ventura. That’s not all! This update makes your Mac easily connect to your Apple phone without unlocking it and waking it up. All you need to do is keep your phone in close proximity with the Macbook and it will connect automatically. It works smoothly and seamlessly with FaceTime, Zoom, Teams, Webex, Meet, and other popular video conferencing applications.
- iPadOS in Apple tablets
All the iPad users, say hello to the all new iPad interface. With the onset feature, your iPad will give you a Mac-like feel, both while working and playing. Your iPad will behave a lot like the Macbook. This is possible with the help of their new update of iPadOS 16. iPadOS 16 rolls out a ton of other features as well. Collaboration, which is similar to Google Docs, is a new feature in Office products like Pages, making it simple to collaborate with others by allowing them to hop right in and start editing the primary page. Freeform, which is somewhat similar to a Google Meet Whiteboard, that allows users to interact with a virtual whiteboard. It’s supposed to be collaborative, and it supports Apple Pencil. Later this year, Freeform will be released. That’s not all, though. Apple is extending support services for external displays to iPads with the M1 chip. Those iPads that are supported will be able to run up to eight apps at once when connected to a monitor.
- Track medication on Apple Watch.
The new Medications App in WatchOS is one of the most important and significant integrations, since it allows you to accurately and easily track the medications you take and when you take them. You may either type the medicines according to the time you need to take them and in manually or take a picture of them to quickly add them to the app. This is a good update feature for all senior citizens.
