Pollution levels are skyrocketing every day in India and all over the world. Global warming doesn’t seem to stop and the temperature keeps rising, and the weather varies with every passing day. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has come forward with a new sustainable and environment-friendly technology. This is where ISRO Solar Car comes in.
ISRO has come up with a sustainable juxtaposition between Solar & Electric cars, organically made from their in-house resources which might just be all our answers to global warming and other pollution-related problems.
This engine runs on lithium-ion batteries which were also manufactured by ISRO. This car uses the same technicalities as were used by the spacecraft carried created by said organisation.
In an interview about ISRO Solar Car with a reputed newspaper, they informed the public that “We are ready to transfer this technology and make our automobile industry one of the most technological advances in the world”. The new space innovation has proved time and time again that it’s taking the country to a new high.
To make the car less cost-effective and more attractive to the Indian automobile market, technicians and scientists are currently looking for ways to reduce its price without interfering with its quality and features.
The solar panel-powered ISRO Solar Car has gone through a test drive at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) located at Tiruvananthapuram. VSSC has also been working on developing a solar panel to recharge the car when it’s out of power. This panel is said to be placed at multiple places like the top of the car, gearbox, and other electronic controls.
It’s no news to us about how expensive Solar Panels and their installation is. Thus, scientists and technicians are working on trying to keep the cost of the car at a reasonable range, without it interfering with its quality and functionality of this car.
They are working on making this car affordable for the Indian Automobile Market so that it’s accessible to the general public without being a financial burden.
ISRO has been looking more and more into sustainable initiatives in there recent times. Some of their environment-friendly inventions entail a solar calculator app which works on solar panels and derives its energy from the sun. If we continue building the future of our technology based on natural and renewable sources of energy, we are looking away from our fossil fuel dependency and pollution and towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
