Get to know more about this new feature

Whatsapp’s parent company, Meta, has been testing several new features over the past few months. Along with a massive UI overhaul and several AI features being introduced, Meta still continues to work on and experiment new features on WhatsApp. Just like that, the instant messaging platform is now on its way to make a feature available that prevents iPhone users from taking screenshots of the profile photo of a user. This step will help to contribute towards the betterment of the privacy policies of the messaging platform.

Where is this feature available as of now?

According to the reports by WABetaInfo, this new feature is already available for the latest version of WhatsApp Beta for iOS (version 24.10.10.70). You can install WhatsApp Beta for iOS (version 24.10.10.70) through the TestFlight app. On the other hand, the feature can already be accessed on the Android version of the messaging platform.

Whenever an individual tries to take a screenshot of the profile picture of a user on the Android version of the app, a message will be displayed saying “This app does not allow screenshots.”

Whenever an individual tries to take a screenshot of the profile picture of a user on an iPhone, it will say “Screenshot capture blocked,” and “To protect everyone’s privacy on WhatsApp, this screenshot has been blocked.”
