Instagram introduced a new security feature which is Two-Factor Authentication that can help users to prevent from hackers.
Instagram users will have to select Two-Factor Authentication on the app settings and tap a button with caption “Require Security Mode” to access the new feature. The users need to put their phone number for the confirmation of the app and “Next” or arrow sign will pop-up after entering a user’s phone number. The confirmation code will be sent to the phone number that the users will have to copy the code and paste it on the app’s confirmation to finish the setting up.
The company added that if the users have not received any SMS security code during the process of the new feature, they will still be able to log into their account by using a backup code for the addition to their username and password.
The update is available for both iOS and Android devices.
