Last June 20, in San Francisco, California, Instagram introduced the new feature in the app which was hailed “The next generation of video”.
IGTV, a new app with long-length video from Instagram’s creators, works just like the subscribers used their phone when filming whether a portrait or landscape with full screen mode. The subscribers can start playing the video when they open the app. The new feature is focused on creators the subscriber follows. IGTV has a one hour limited length unlike the IG Stories which only lasts for 15 seconds. This would help creators have more interactions to their viewers. It also covers more than 800M subscribers that can see the creator’s video. When the users swipe the app, they can select options which includes “For You,” “Following,” “Popular” and “Continue Watching.” They can also comment, like, and share the video to their followers or in direct message.
The company said that anyone can be a creator. This will be launched globally by a few more weeks on both Android and iOS.
