India Advances In Median Mobile Internet Speed Ranking

According to the Ookla Speedtest Global Index, India has advanced two positions in the global ranking for median mobile Internet speeds in April 2022. The median fixed broadband speeds in India have decreased somewhat, while the median mobile download speeds have grown. India dropped four places to 76 in April from 72 in March in terms of total median fixed broadband speeds. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Singapore topped the worldwide rankings for mobile broadband and fixed broadband performance, respectively, according to the index study.

The Speedtest Global Index for April 2022 has been issued by Ookla. India has moved up two points in the survey, to 118 in April from 120 in March, in terms of median mobile speeds. In April, India’s median mobile download speed improved to 14.19Mbps, up from 13.67Mbps in March.

The country dropped four places to 76 in April from 72 in March in terms of median fixed broadband speeds. In April, India’s median fixed broadband speed dropped to 48.09Mbps from 48.15Mbps the month before.

The index’s top performers were the Middle Eastern country of UAE and the island nation of Singapore. With a median mobile download speed of 134.48Mbps, UAE ranked first in mobile broadband. With a median fixed broadband download speed of 207.61Mbps, Singapore takes the lead in fixed broadband.

Ukraine and Papua New Guinea were among the biggest gainers in April 2022. In April 2022, Ukraine improved the most in terms of median mobile broadband download speed, while Papua New Guinea improved the most in terms of fixed broadband performance.
