Now that it has data processing capabilities, the model can analyze text in JSON format and call functions to produce a JSON code snippet that developers can use to automate tasks within their connected apps, such as sending emails, posting online, or making purchases.
Following the announcement, users on “X” expressed interest in learning if there had been any advancements in accuracy or speed.
The model is a “mega improvement over previous ones, especially at math,” according to Owen Campbell-Moore, a product manager with an AI company, who tweeted the release. This suggests that the visual analysis function isn’t the only significant change.
Updates to its AI algorithms and pricing were made earlier in January of this year by the Sam Altman-led business in response to growing competition. In response to user complaints regarding the model’s “laziness,” GPT-3.5 Turbo’s price was reduced, and GPT-4 Turbo’s performance was increased.

Reddit users revealed earlier this week that OpenAI had posted a blog post erroneously stating that GPT-4.5 Turbo “surpasses GPT-4 Turbo in speed, accuracy, and scalability,” despite the company being silent on upcoming GPT revisions.
The OpenAI website swiftly took down the blog post, but it seems that an improved GPT model is on the way. This implies that Microsoft may be considering adding GPT-4.5 Turbo to Copilot Pro when the new model is released, assuming the company’s goal is to set itself apart from the competition by providing a better model at a higher price point.
