If you decided to delete Instagram because you exceeded the needs of a certain insta or it’s parent company Meta has once again caused controversy, it’s not that quick or easy to do. Until recently, you couldn’t even do that from within the Instagram app. If you want, please take the time and make the mandatory post “I’m deleting Instagram”. After that, you have two ways to do it. The easiest way for iPhone users to remove Instagram is to use this app. To do this, go to your profile, tap the hamburger menu in the upper right corner and select “Settings”. Then go to your user account and go to the bottom of the menu. Below the Marked Content button is the Delete Account button. If you have an account, tap it to open a menu asking if you want to delete or deactivate your account. You can learn more about other options in the “Suspending Your Instagram Account” section of this guide. If you click the delete button, you will receive a message saying that if you log in again, you can stop the deletion on a certain date. Hit the red Delete Account Continue button and the program will open a web page. Here, after answering the question of why you are deleting the account, you can complete the deletion and enter your password for verification.
According to Apple’s rules, the Instagram app for iOS must allow account deletion. During our testing, this option was not always available in the Android version of the app. You can check the Delete Account option by following the iOS instructions above, but if you don’t have one, you’ll have to do it online. If you are unable to use the account to delete an account, you will need to follow these steps to unlink your account. You can track them on your computer or phone if you use a browser. First, you need to go to the special Instagram account deletion request page, which can be seen here, or follow the link in the Instagram account deletion guide article. If you’re not logged into Instagram online (and most people aren’t), you’ll need to enter your credentials. In fact, you may need to enter your password twice during the uninstall process, so now is the time to check your password.
You should be on a page with the old Instagram logo and a dropdown menu asking why you want to delete your account. Depending on which option you choose, you can show various links to the Instagram Help Center that promise to solve your problems, or a message reminding you to confirm which account you are deleting. Whatever you choose, a box will appear below the links asking you to re-enter your password. Once you’ve done that, tap or click the button that says Delete (your account name) and make sure you’re sure. As Instagram states several times on its account deletion page, your data is not deleted immediately — Meta keeps it for 30 days. But your profile and posts will be hidden on the website. If you are completely disconnected from Instagram, don’t forget to remove the app from your phone as well. This will save space and reduce conflicts between you and the subscriber.
