The Poco F6 was the first smartphone to be launched in China with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. It is one of only a few chips that have a neural processor unit (NPU) capable of delivering generative AI experiences on the device.

The Poco F6 has a number of AI features, which is in line with the emergence of generative AI on smartphones. They are not as easily accessible as on a Samsung Galaxy. You have to unlock them before you can use them.

The Poco F6 is a smartphone that runs on HyperOS, based on Android 14. . It offers similar features to the flagship Samsung Galaxy S24. These features were previously only available on high-end smartphones. However, they are now being offered on more affordable smartphones like the Poco F6, which runs on HyperOS.

How to activate AI-based photo editing features in Poco F6

Downloading an AI editor plug in that is approximately 800 MB large will enable AI-backed photo-editing features like AI image expansion or AI Eraser Pro. The Gallery app on the Poco F6 allows users to access the generative AI tools. They can be used even if the device isn’t connected to the Internet. To use the Pro editing tools, however, you will need an active internet connection.

The tools on the Poco F6 are more flexible than some of the AI-powered generative photo editing apps I’ve used on my smartphone in the past. You can remove people, objects, and shadows from a picture to make it more appealing.

In the same way, generative AI can be used to extend an image. This feature is only available with an active internet connection. It could take several seconds depending on the image.

Other features include AI Bokeh, and the company confirmed the addition of a new AI Gesture Control, which allows the user to control their smartphone without touching it, particularly when streaming videos or watching movies.

Currently, AI on the F6 is limited to photo editing. The company may introduce AI-based productivity features in the near future, similar to those found in high-end smartphones.
