The time is right to be a Legend of Zelda enthusiast. For one thing, a live-action movie based on this franchise is in development – the Hyrule edition. And Nintendo announced recently that the next mainline title in the series, Echoes of Wisdom will launch later this year on the Nintendo Switch.

What’s New in the Hyrule Edition ?

Nintendo will launch a special “Hyrule edition” Switch Lite on September 26th. It is available for preorder now at Best Buy and GameStop for $209.99. The console also includes a 12-month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online with Expansion Pack, a $49.99 value.

It’s worth noting that Echoes of Wisdom is the first Zelda game to feature Princess Zelda. It will be available on Nintendo’s dedicated handheld.

It features the Hylian crest at the back, and also comes with a 12-month Nintendo Switch online + Expansion Pack subscription.

Nintendo’s premium membership tier offers online play and cloud-based saving. Along with this, it also offers the opportunity to play classics. Some examples are The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda Majora’s mask, The Legend of Zelda, A Link to The Past, etc.

Pre-order Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition

The Nintendo Switch Lite now comes in an incredible Hyrule Edition. It aims to celebrate the release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom on September 26th.

You can get the Nintendo Switch base for less money if you are willing to sacrifice the Joy Cons. It also includes the Nintendo Switch Online membership, at a $50 value.

Is the edition worth it?

The Nintendo Switch was released in 2017. Its successor is expected to be available on the shelves within a few years. If a launch date of 2025 is not in the cards, then is it even worth buying a Nintendo Switch Lite, which won’t be available until September, if its successor will already be on store shelves?

The answer for the majority of people is “no”. You shouldn’t buy an old Nintendo Switch model a year before you get the new Nintendo Switch.

There are also those who do not plan to invest in the new Nintendo Switch. This is because we don’t yet know how much it will be and if a Lite model will be available at launch. You may have to wait years for a Lite version of the successor if you only want that.
