GoPro has struck a deal with electronics design manufacturer Jabil. The multi-year partnership comes amid GoPro’s struggling sales and plummeting stock.
The deal will let Jabil develop products with their camera tech, specifically their lenses and sensors, for third-party products. “This collaborative approach with Jabil will enable innovative, GoPro enabled products and services from some of the most exciting hardware and software companies out there,” GoPro chief technology officer, Sandor Barna said in a statement. Jabil’s expertises lie in electronics design in machine learning for security purposes.
Jabil has previously made products for GoPro, including their line of HERO cameras.
