Google introduced the guided frame feature in Pixel camera. This feature will allow users to have spoken assistance to get the face in the frame.
Google introduced the new AI accessibility feature for Pixel smartphone and Android devices. There are four new features. Out of these four features two are exclusive to Pixel smartphones. The other two features have a wider available range across Android devices. These features will reportedly help people with low vision and vision loss, who are deaf and those with speech impairment. The four features include- Guided Frame and new AI features in the Magnifier app. Other features include improvements in the Live Transcribe and Live Captions feature.
Google Adds AI powered accessibility feature
In a blog post, Google has highlighted that the company is committed to help the disability community. The company is looking to bring new accessibility tools and innovation to make technology more inclusive.
The feature called Guided Frame is exclusive to the Pixel camera. The feature provides spoken assistance to users. This will help them place their faces within the frame and find the right camera angle. The feature will be helpful for the ones with low vision and vision loss. According to Google, the feature will prompt users to lift their faces up or down, or left to right. The camera will, in the process, automatically capture the photo.
Live Transcribe is getting a new update
Live Transcribe is getting a new update, too. Only foldable smartphones will support this upgrade. In dual screen mode, the feature will show each speaker their own transcriptions while using the feature. This way, if two people are sitting across a table, one can place the smartphone in the middle. Each half of the screen will show what the person has said. Google says it will make it easier for all participants to follow the conversation better.
