Google has just launched a standalone app for Google Lens, their AR app that uses artificial intelligence to identify further information on the images taken on your device.
When opened, the app leads you straight to the same viewfinder found when opened via Google Assistant. The app also includes the new features that were integrated into the platform just last week, Smart Text Selection and Style Match. Despite its intent of being accessible to all devices, some users have noted that it is not compatible with all Android devices. Users online have claimed that the app does not run on the following devices: the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, Moto Z Play, Nokia 7 Plus, and the Xiaomi Mi A1.
Let’s hope Google patches this up quickly so more users can access the new app.
