Leaked images of the upcoming Google Pixel 9 have surfaced, showing a compact design with some significant changes. The new design features flattened sides and a revamp of the rear camera module. Let’s take a closer look.
The Pixel 9 boasts three rear cameras, including a periscope zoom lens, a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Pixel 8. This move brings the Pixel 9 more in line with its Pro counterpart, providing improved versatility and enhanced zoom capabilities.
The Pixel 9 now features an iPhone-like flat frame, replacing the curved design of the Pixel 8. While opinions on flat versus curved frames differ, this design choice aligns the Pixel 9 with current smartphone aesthetics.

The camera island on the Pixel 9 has undergone a transformation. In the Pixel 8, the camera bar spilled into the frame, but the Pixel 9 takes a different approach. The entire island is now oval-shaped, with all three cameras.
As per the renders’ source, the Pixel 9 is expected to have a 6.1-inch screen and measure 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm, with the camera bump adding an extra thickness of 12 mm. The aspect ratio may vary slightly from the Pixel 8.
As the official launch of the Pixel 9 is still about eight months away, we can expect more leaks and rumors leading up to the big reveal. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting addition to the Pixel family.
