On August 13, Google is scheduled to unveil the Pixel 9 series. Here’s everything we know about the leaks, so far.
Although the hardware and software specifications of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 XL are already well known, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also expected to include a revamped camera island, with Google reportedly choosing to use a large rectangular camera pill on the back. Presumably, the Tensor G4 chipset—which is expected to offer notable performance enhancements over its predecessor—will power the next foldable phone.
The company utilised the Tensor G2 chipset for the Pixel 7 series. There are rumours that the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will include an 8-inch Super Actua Flex display in addition to a 6.3-inch cover screen. When compared to the original Pixel Fold, which featured a 5.8-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch inside display, this is a significant improvement. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has surfaced in the Camera FV-5 app’s device database, per a recent report by 91mobiles. According to the database entry, Google’s second folding phone is expected to sport a 48MP OIS main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, the same as the Pixel Fold. This sensor is capable of taking 12MP images.
Although specifics of additional camera sensors are currently unknown, theories imply that Google will continue to use the 10.8MP ultrawide sensor and the 10.8MP telephoto lens with a 5x optical zoom from the previous version. It is yet unknown if the 10MP camera on the phone’s front will be the internal display or the one on the cover screen. The phone is also rumoured to have an f/2.2 aperture. Regarding pricing, a prior report from a French website claimed that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold would go on sale for €1,199, or about Rs 1,09,775.
