Google is bringing Gemini to Chromebooks to give them an AI makeover

Google is incorporating Gemini and a few other features powered by artificial intelligence to Chrome OS, the operating system that regulates Chromebooks.

Gemini, Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot will be brought about by Google to Chromebook Plus laptops as the tech giant tries to increase the incorporation of AI features and tools among a diverse user base. On Wednesday the company added several AI powered features to Chrome OS and introduced new Chrome books that will be unveiled in the market soon.

According to the search engine giant, Gemini powered AI features will make things easier and more convenient so that they can be done easily. As per example, the ‘Help Me Write’ feature of Google works for any text box. Users can ask Google AI to rewrite the selected text or modify it by rephrasing it in specific ways. It can also change the tone of the text. Uses will also be able to create custom wallpapers with the help of generator AI through Google. Google photos have also introduced Magic Editor which will be added to Chromebook Plus as well. A feature called Life Caption will provide subtitles for other languages during Google meets or zoom video calls. This feature will help to reduce the language barriers.

ChatGPT’s competitor, Google Gemini is also available as a separate app. Users can ask this AI chatbot to do anything and they can get their task done easily and in an instant. May it be writing a cover letter to fixing grammatical errors in essays, the chatbot can do anything.

Google adding Gemini AI to ChromeOS and turning Chromebooks into AI-capable notebooks is part of the plan to bring emerging technology into products across various price segments and operating systems
