Amazon has announced that it will sell a smart alarm clock with Alexa, the Echo Spot for $44.99 exclusively to Prime members until July 17. The e-commerce company is gearing up for its Prime Day celebration.
Echo Spot Features
The Echo Spot uses Amazon’s Alexa technology for home assistants and is primarily used as a small clock that stays on the user’s bedside.
You can ask Alexa for an alarm on it by asking things like, “Alexa set a weekday 7am alarm with soft jazz.” or wake up to any of the four new alarm sounds: Aurora, Daybreak Endeavor and Flutter. If you’d like to get a little more sleep after your alarm sounds, simply tap the Echo Spot.
The Echo Spot can be used as a standalone device or integrated into an Amazon Alexa-compatible smart home. It is also capable of making calls, announcements or controlling other appliances in a smart house.
Amazon said that it has multiple privacy controls. These include a microphone off button and the ability to delete or view your voice recordings.
It is available in Black, Glacier White and Ocean Blue. Prime members get it for $44.99, while customers can purchase it for $79.99.
This offer is only for Amazon.com customers.
Amazon’s Alexa is working hard to increase its popularity and profitability by offering more smart devices in a variety of price points.
