Apple announced Apple Intelligence on Monday, a generative AI that will be available across iPhone, iPad and Mac. The AI is compatible with iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. It works in a similar way to ChatGPT.
Apple Intelligence will primarily compute on the device and, in some cases, on the private cloud if the prompts are too large for the device. Apple has said that private cloud computing based on silicon server will not store any data.
Apple Intelligence is able to rewrite, edit, proofread and summarize Mail, Notes and Pages as well as third-party applications. Apple Intelligence allows you to set the tone for rewrite. You can choose from casual, professional or personal.
Apple Intelligence helps you summarize long emails and create labels for them. You can also use it to send smart replies.
Users can now record audio in the Notes or Phone apps. Participants are automatically notified. Apple Intelligence is able to generate a summary.
Image Playground allows users to create images using three different styles: Illustration, Animation, and Sketch. Image Playground is integrated into apps such as Messages. Apple added that all images are created directly on the device.
Apple Intelligence allows users to create Genmojis of their friends and family using photos. You can add them directly to your messages or share them as a reaction or sticker in a Tapback.
It can also be used to find photos more precisely in Photos.
Apple’s voice assistant Siri has been integrated with Apple Intelligence, which will allow it to leapfrog over other search engines and summarise the media in a natural and realistic manner.
Apple has finally integrated OpenAI’s ChatGPT into iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. This is a major step. Siri uses its features as well, but only with the user’s consent.
Apple’s Writing Tools will include ChatGPT. It will also be able generate images.
OpenAI will not store requests.
ChatGPT, powered by GPT-4o, will be available on iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia in the second half of this year. ChatGPT users can connect to the experience without creating an account.
Apple Intelligence is available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max as well as iPad and Mac M1 or later with Siri and device languages set to U.S. English.
