The popular messaging software WhatsApp is receiving an upgrade via the Google Play Beta Programme, increasing the version to 2.23.14.12. The most recent update makes a significant change to the user interface, integrating it with the most recent Material Design 3 requirements. WhatsApp previously released a revamped UI with improved switches and hovering action buttons. WhatsApp has now improved the user experience even further with the latest beta release (2.23.14.12) by integrating rounded notifications that correspond to the Material Design 3 requirements.
The new design is visible in the app’s alerts, as shown in the attached screenshot. WhatsApp formerly utilised a conventional UI for warnings, but they now have significantly rounded corners, providing the app with a more modern and coherent appearance. This design modification not only increases the overall visual appearance of the app but also maintains uniformity throughout the app, which is in line with Material Design 3 principles. It’s worth noting that this upgrade applies to all alerts within the app, not just the one shown in the screenshot.
While rounded notifications are now accessible to select beta testers who have installed the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store, the functionality will progressively roll out to more users over the next several weeks. WhatsApp is constantly working to improve its features and functionality. In addition, the company is working on a high-quality video-sharing tool and has recently launched a secure local chat transmission by QR code.
Stay watching for additional improvements as WhatsApp moves closer to a whole makeover of its UI, with the goal of providing a more streamlined and aesthetically pleasing experience for its users.
