At CES 2019 in Las Vegas, ASUS announced the new devices that include “an extensive range of innovative products and services for the education sector.”
The first ASUS Chrome OS rugged tablet has rubberized chassis that measures less than 10mm thick. The ASUS Chromebook Tablet CT100 has a 9.7 inch QXGA wide-angle touchscreen display which has a strong tempered glass that will prevent scratches and gouges when travelling. The company added that the CT100 is rated for drops up to 100cm which is the height of the most desks. It includes a hexa-core OP1 processor which is designed for Chromebooks. The user-facing camera has 2MP HD while the world-facing camera has 5MP HD. The storage of the tablet has 4GB of RAM with 32GB of ROM. The battery capacity has 35Wh lithium-polymer battery. The tablet can be charged with a standard USB Type C.
ASUS has not yet announced the starting price of the new rugged tablet. The company confirmed that it will be available in the coming months with its configurations.
