At the WWDC event a few weeks ago, Apple unveiled iOS 16, which highlighted “next-generation” CarPlay capability, for which automakers won’t be ready anytime soon. Also announced a new feature of Fuel & Driving Apps that you will be able to use after the update is released. CarPlay includes apps for loading and driving tasks. Your favorite apps can find a home in CarPlay to fill the tank, give you route information, toll assistance, tow assistance, and more.

Reuters reported this week that at least one gas station is implementing the feature in its system, enabling a new way to use your car’s entertainment screen to find gas stations and pay for gas. Gas developers must enable CarPlay for their iPhone applications, and customers must create a gas account and add a payment method. HF Sinclair Corp. Dallas-based parent Sinclair Oil plans to let customers buy gas from Dash. Jack Barger, the company’s vice president of marketing, said they are excited about the idea that customers will be able to pull into a Sinclair station and buy fuel from their car’s display. This company has 1,600 gas stations. It’s not the first time a driver has checked the seat pump – Exxon has partnered with Ford to include its SpeedPass Plus app with the automaker’s Sync 3 infotainment system. General Motors took a scene with shell stations, but the program was closed and the car market stopped earlier this year.

Concept: Here's how Apple could supercharge CarPlay with deeper integrations and more - 9to5Mac

Modern gasoline pumps have tried to add functions to their pumps that support phone programs, and readers are more often than ever, but in some cases, because companies like Exan are not suitable for the first speed, you perform the standard Apple Bay page. The company later removed the Apple Watch SpeedPass Plus app. Electric vehicle charging applications like ChargePoint and Electrify America already work with Apple CarPlay, enabling you to find stations, map routes, and start charging at selected stations. With the launch of iOS 16 this fall, we could see even more opportunities for in-car e-commerce thanks to Apple’s expanded vision for connected car apps.
