Microsoft posted in a blog post about their new cloud that will combine all of the company’s game-development platforms, tools, and services.
The Microsoft game Stack includes Azure, PlayFab, DirectX, Visual Studio, Xbox Live, App Center, and Havok. Azure is giving building blocks such as compute, storage, and cloud-native services from AI and machine learning. Azure is also available in 54 regions globally and still working to provide highly secure and sustainable cloud infrastructure, as well as more services for game developers. The company is bringing back PlayFab into the Azure family with its five new services.
According to Kareem Choudhry, Microsoft Gaming Cloud’s Corporate Vice President, said “There are 2 billion gamers in the world today, playing a broad range of games, on a broad range of devices. There is as much focus on video streaming, watching, and sharing within a community as there is on playing or competing. As game creators, you strive every day to continuously engage your players, to spark their imaginations, and inspire them, regardless of where they are, or what device they’re using. Today, we’re introducing Microsoft Game Stack, to help you do exactly that.”
