YouTube informed all creators about the new update that the app will ban all spam subscriptions from the user’s channel.
According to the YouTube Help Forum, the company noticed some creators have spam subscribers and it is not a fair playing for anyone, so the new platform is the responsible in identifying fact spam from their system. By removing spam users, YouTube will maintain the safety of all creators. The company confirmed that they use a mix of industry leading techniques and proprietary technology that will help them to recognize spam on the platform.
Users will see a banner in YouTube Studio or Classic Creator Studio when they have spam subscribers, which are rolling out over the next few days. Creators will decrease their subscriber count from their channel.
The company said “Channels that had a high percentage of spam and fall below 1,000 subscribers will no longer meet the minimum requirement for YPP and will be removed from the program. They are encouraged to reapply once they’ve rebuilt their subscribers organically.”
