Last August 9th, Facebook introduced its new platform which is for shows on the app that includes live videos, episodes, and recorded videos.
The new platform was hailed “Watch” that will help users to easily find shows that they want. The Watch has an LCD icon with an arrow sign located next to Newsfeed icon. It has two options which are Discover and Watchlist. The Discover option offers random videos that would interest the users while the Watchlist offers latest episodes and saved episodes that have been followed by users. The show has an information section, comment section, and “Up Next” section in which the next video will play automatically after the current video played.
According to the company’s blog post, the new platform will help creators and platforms to make shows that will engage its fans and community, live shows that will connect with their fans automatically, shows that have narrative arc or have an unchanging theme, and live event that will bring communities together.
The new feature is now available globally.
