According to The information, the Snap CEO Evan Spiegel agreed to the controversial redesign of the Snapchat despite all the warnings he received from the engineers and mediocre performance through the pre-launch test that they conducted.

Based on the reports, Spiegel wants to completely restore the app’s design. He didn’t discuss the functionality or proposed goals with the designers and executives. In fact, the redesign of the app last year gained negative feedback from the users and the result was not too good according from the people who saw the launching.

Last February’s redesign was criticized by celebrities who said that the redesign made the app more complicated to use.  The users filed an online petition to remove the updated design of the app and gained more than 1.2 million signatures.

Engadget reported that the main goal is to make the app easier to use, as said by the current and former employees of Snapshot.

Spiegel later told The Information in an email that “There is no doubt that collaboration yields better results”.
