Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber confirmed that the company will resume testing self-driving cars in a few months.

Uber stopped their self-driving car testing because of the recent accident in Tempe, Arizona last March when a woman crossing the street with her bicycle, was run over by a self-driving Uber vehicle. She was immediately rushed to the hospital but the woman died due to her injuries. Khosrowshahi cares about the safety of their customers or passengers according to the interview in Uber Elevate Summit last 8th and 9th of May.

The testing self-driving program will be different and safer now to avoid accidents like it did before. The National Traffic Safety Board (NTSB) is working hand-in-hand with Uber. Khosrowshahi added that Uber vehicles will be back after the NTSB announces the result according to the incident.
