The Apex Edition was launched by Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus Wednesday, August 7, 2024. The limited edition – OnePlus Open Apex Edition – foldable smartphone is available in Crimson Shadow. It’s an upgrade to OnePlus’ first foldable phone OnePlus Open that was launched in October of last year.
OnePlus Apex Edition Features
OnePlus added AI features such as AI Eraser, AI Smart Cutout and AI Smart Cutout in order to keep up with the hype surrounding the gen AI trend.
The OnePlus Open Apex Edition has a design of vegan leather on the back, with an accent in orange on the alert slide. The phone is rated at 239 grams.
OnePlus Open Apex Edition comes with a cover screen of 6.31 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The main display measures 7.82 inches, has a similar refresh rate, and reaches 2,800 nits at its brightest. Both displays are compatible with Dolby Vision.
It comes with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is the same as that of the Open. OxygenOS 14 is based on Android 14, but it’s the operating system.
Open Apex Edition will include 3 years of OS updates and 4 years security updates.
OnePlus Open Apex Edition features an industry-first mode VIP that disables all microphones, cameras and other functions on the device once it is activated via the alert slider.
OnePlus Open Apex Edition comes with the same 4,805 mAh Battery and a 67W charger.
The Edition comes with a 48MP main camera, a 64MP telephoto lens and a ultrawide 48MP lens. The phone has a front-facing camera of 20 MP on the inside, and a selfie sensor of 32 MP on the back.
The edition will be available on OnePlus Experience Stores and Amazon as well as at partner offline stores such Reliance Digital and Bajaj. The open sale will begin on August 10.
