US-based friend.com, pioneered by entrepreneur Avi Schiffman recently introduced an AI wearable called Friend. Here’s what you need to know about this tiny little device.

This device is just the size of an Air Tag and has been developed to combat loneliness. Friend offers constant companionship to the one wearing it. When compared to other AI wearables this pendant like device has a different approach because it focuses on emotional companionship and not productivity or multitasking.
The world witnessed AI wearable devices such as Humane AI pin and Rabbit R1 a few months ago that failed to impress the users. While these devices are mainly focused on developing productivity and performing a variety of tasks, Schiffman’s Friend does none of these. The CEO states that this device offers pure companionship and has been modeles in such a way that it will develop a personality that aligns with that of the user. Friend is an AI chatbot that is willing to help you talk about a movie after watching it or help the user to analyze how a party fizzled off.
What is ‘Friend’ ?
The CEO terms Friend as ‘a pal’, ‘a buddy’. It is essentially an AI chatbot that is housed inside a small pendant. Based on the promotional video shared by the company friend is a chatbot that has an opinion to share about everything that has been going on around it. The chatbot has a conversation with the user using text messages and push notifications on the smartphone with which it is paired.
